I work with paper, cutting, tearing, slicing, and layering to create a semi-realistic image. It creates a painting like quality until you get close and see that the texture, depth, light and shadow are developed through the layering, texture and choice of colored paper.
Green sea turtle resting on coral. Paper slits create a layering of color and texture of the shell. The lighter colors reminiscent of the light through water reflection on the floor and shell. Paper, charcoal, gel medium on canvas.
